Stay-At-Home Mom Style: The Cardigan Uncertainty

I am seriously loving cognac and black looks right now. This cardigan is the last of my Target haul. I grabbed it because the color is PERFECT (I've been looking for more of a camel than tan), and the length is about where I want it. But now looking at the pictures, I think the fit might be off. Ideally, I'd like something with a v-neck, and something that doesn't look so baggy and sloppy (but still has room to layer). This has plenty of room to layer, but it looks like there might be a bit TOO much room. Thoughts? Help a girl out.

  1. Hmm, my cardigan from Target is a v-neck... I struggle with fit for sweaters, too! How does it fit buttoned?? I don't think you look sloppy!

  2. I struggle with cardi's as well - I tend to steer away because as a chesty girl I tend to think they don't fall quite right.

The color pallet is divine in this outfit, though.

  3. I have the same cardigan, and I love it. It's cozy and soft :) I tend to buy my cardigans so that they look good open - I rarely button them, so they often are a size smaller than I actually need (plus, I HATE baggy sleeves and getting them a size smaller works best). Love the combo of black and brown here!

  4. Very true! The colors are my favorite part, but I think it's too big in the sides (which is why it looks fine straight on but not from the side) and the upper arms. I actually tried on one size smaller than this and it felt too small, so I may just be out of luck with this particular cardigan. :( Thanks for your input, it was helpful! :)

  5. Thanks, Autumn! Haha it looks even worse buttoned, I think it's too wide (too big in the sides). I'm thinking back to Target it goes, and the search continues. :(

  6. Thanks, Brynn! I may play around with it a bit more (I wear my cardigans the same way as you), but I'm thinking this may not be the one. :( If only it were a v-neck! How long ago did you get yours?

  7. From these pics, I can't tell that it looks baggy. I do love the black & tan together. And your necklace is a great pop of color!
