I know I'm late to the game on this one, but here we are. After not shopping for the first half of the month, I made up for lost time with a couple awesome online sales and a trip to Ross. I was able to cross three more things off my wish list (the boots were just for fun), and once again saved more than I spent (love it when that happens)!
My new favorite outfit that I've worn several times this month (despite the 30 for 30) is the sweater/black jeans/ boots combo. I LOVE it, and will show it to you very soon! As for the maroon pants, it'll be a little bit before those make an appearance because while they're perfect in almost every way-- fit in the waist, hips and thighs; exact color I was hoping for; thick material that doesn't show panty lines-- they are not cropped skinnies like I wanted. So I will be making my very first trip to the tailor soon to have them remedy that for me. They'll need to take the legs in a little, and raise the hem a bit, so hopefully that doesn't end up being too expensive. I'll include the tailoring costs in November's budget.
Also, I'm not including my new coat in the budget because it's outerwear and actually ended up replacing a coat I had that was on its last legs, but if me not including it makes you mad, it would bring my total up to $75.75. (It was originally $42.94, I got it for $21.10.) Either way I was a little over my $50 budget, but I don't regret any of my purchases! Here's a look at my updated wish list:
Fall Wish List
brown leather (or fake leather) jacket
I don't think I'll be making a winter wishlist, since I left my winter wardrobe in Omaha and "winter" out here is basically the same as fall, just more rainy. I'll save updating my winter wardrobe for next year when I have to endure a true Nebraska winter again.
As always, linking up with Franish for Budgeting Bloggers!
Ooh, I can't wait to see that outfit! I don't want to think about winter... I'm already cold! Hmm, so you'll be in Omaha next winter??
ReplyDeleteYou know I love these jeans :)

ReplyDeleteMy sister did a guest post on DIY skinnying if you want to give that a try and save some money! Also, SUPER jealous of those boots. They're adorable!!
Wow! You really got some nice things! I love those boots and can't wait to see you style them. Let me know how the tailoring goes. I mostly have my mother in law tailor items or do it myself so I am curious!
ReplyDeleteThose boots are INCREDIBLE! And such a great deal! Good luck with the tailoring :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, on all counts! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'll definitely be documenting the process, it's all new to me!
ReplyDeleteI almost added to the post that I would just do it myself if I had a sewing machine because I remembered seeing that DIY! Unfortunately, I don't, and no way am I doing it by hand. So to the tailor I go! And thanks, the boots ARE pretty great! ;)
ReplyDeleteMeeee too! haha thanks!
ReplyDeleteHopefully I'll be posting it tomorrow! I'm so glad I don't have to worry about true winter this year (as much as I'm not a fan of being in California, it does have its up sides). We'll actually be back in Omaha at the end of this winter (late Feb- early March sometime). We'll find out for sure once we get our orders-- fingers crossed that we find out soon!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine living the military life! Waiting for orders... change! I don't like change! I don't like not being in control! AH! :) I'm about 4 hours from Omaha. Maybe we'll have to meet in the middle and go shopping!
ReplyDeleteHaha I'm with you, change sucks. I would totally be down for that! :)
ReplyDeleteI love those boots (just commented on a more recent post featuring them), and I cannot wait to see those maroon pants on you!! Ah! I also have a brown faux leather jacket on my wishlist - if I find one that I like, I'll send the link your way!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Brynn! I still need to take them to the tailor, I need to get my butt in gear haha. Thanks, that would be awesome! I'll do the same for you if I find one first. :)
