Budgeting Bloggers: July Budget

I debated not even doing a budgeting bloggers this month because I only purchased two things, but I figured I might as well because I made the conscious decision to actually pay attention to what I add to my wardrobe and how much I spend doing it.

So, this month I bought:

This tank top (worn here): $20

And these sandals (worn here and here): $20

So overall, I spent $40 - $18.81 sold clothes = $21.19.

I didn't get much of a chance to go shopping this month, because I don't particularly enjoy shopping while dragging E along with me-- it's my me time! and she doesn't really enjoy it either-- but good news! We came up on the wait list for the Child Development Center here on base, so starting Tuesday she'll be going twice a week for three hours each morning. Six hours a week for me to do whatever I want (shopping, duh), and she'll have a chance to be around other kids and have a more structured learning environment.

I love homeschooling her, but I'm not that great at it and she needs to be exposed to social situations more. Plus some mommy time will help me retain my sanity, so that's also a plus. Yay!

  1. Good news all around! Sounds like those 6 hours a week will be great for both of you. :) Great job on your budgeting! I'm not sure I could keep myself to 2 items a month. I've got my post set for Wednesday. I'm debating on selling some old clothes through a nearby consignment store. Do you only use Poshmark?

  2. I was tempted by online shopping haha, but I seldom am able to swallow shipping costs so I refrained. Yeah, I only use Poshmark right now. I don't really put a whole lot of effort in selling them, but now that I'll have a little bit of free time again I might take some stuff to the Plato's Closet or another consignment store in the area!

  3. Shipping fees are such a waste! I never buy online unless I get free shipping (promo codes or buy enough to get free shipping then maybe return stuff). Good luck with selling! I am kind of kicking myself for donating a ton of clothes a few weeks ago instead of trying to sell some of it first.

  4. I'd say that if you were only going to buy two things, these were two good choices! They're super cute and can be worn in tons of different ways!

  10. Thanks! It really is a pain. I do a lot of online window shopping but can never pull the trigger on it because of shipping costs.

  13. I'm sure your mommy time will be wonderful!

I only bought one thing last month (this month I went kind of crazy haha) and it felt awesome. Sometimes it's nice to take a little spending break, so you can spend more the next month :)

    That tank is so pretty!

Haha so true. I have a feeling I'm going to make up for it this month, as I have already bought more pieces than I did last month.

    Thank you!
