This is a combination of two simple homemade things that I've made many times before--strawberry simple syrup and whipped cream-- and I'm not sure why it took me this long to combine them because the combination is amaze-balls. (That's right. Amaze-balls.)
Strawberry Simple Syrup
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
2 cups strawberries, quartered
Combine water and sugar in a
saucepan over medium-high heat; stir until sugar is dissolved. Mix
strawberries into saucepan and bring to a boil; boil for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until strawberries are mushy and
sauce is thick, about 10 minutes.
Whipped Cream
1 pint heavy whipping cream
2 ounces sugar
a few dashes vanilla extract
Whip all ingredients together until you have soft peaks.
Allow the strawberry syrup to cool completely, then fold into the whipped cream. Store in an airtight container in either the fridge or freezer.

Put on top of everything (except maybe pizza).
Seriously, this picture doesn't do justice to how pretty it is. And how pretty it is has nothing on how delicious it is. So cool, so creamy, so good.
