Stay-At-Home Mom Style: Hair Things

necklace/ Target | jacket/ Old Navy | tee and shorts/ Gap | sandals/ Payless

I got my hair cut and colored last week, as you can probably tell. I love the color-- I'm a natural blonde, but I think brunette is more flattering on my skin tone. I'm not sold on the cut, though. I've been getting roughly the same haircut since I was pregnant with E. I need a new look, but I don't know what would work with my hair type and face shape. Maybe I should stop worrying about it and just go for the pixie. One of these days.

Oh, right, the clothes! So, I'm in love with these shorts. I also got them last week on final sale at Gap (for $5.97!!) and have worn them approximately 5 times since then. They made their debut in my guest post for I do deClaire, but I love them so much I wanted to wear them here, too. Gonna squeeze out every chance to wear them before I pull out my fall clothes.

Fall, guys! It's almost here. I'm excited, because the weather here is pretty much layering weather year round, so soon I can start doing it without looking like a weirdo.

  1. You totally scored on those shorts! The colors are great in them! I just ordered a few printed shorts (better late than never!) from Old Navy when they were having a 20% off sale. Hopefully I like a few of them when they arrive. :)

  2. Those shorts are so cute and what a great deal!! I like your hair color too. I'm a fan of dark hair. I've been wanting to color mine but I think I'll wait until after the baby comes.

  4. Thanks! I love them.

I'm just afraid of it being awful due to my flimsy hair!

  5. Thanks, Amy! I was amazed at how cheap they were.

  6. I tried the Old Navy printed shorts and didn't like how they fit my hips, which was a bummer because all the prints are so great! Thanks, Laura! I'm glad I was finally able to find printed shorts that were flattering. :)

  7. I have super limp hair, when it's long it's so flat and has no body whatsoever. The shorter my hair, the more life it has! And it's SO easy!

  8. Well I think you've just about convinced me, because your hair is fabulous! Maybe for my next cut I'll finally take the plunge!

  10. I love those shorts! I've been admiring that print for a few months, so I'm pretty jealous that you snagged them for so cheap! Hairstyles are tricky - I pretty much keep mine long because it gets fluffier and fluffier when I cut it.

  11. I definitely got lucky! I can see that with your hair type. But it looks great long!

  15. I absolutely love those shorts! They're so colorful and I think they're really flattering on you. Your new hair color is awesome, and I say go for the pixie!!! I'm working my way there (my hair gets shorter and shorter every time I cut it)...I'm just waiting to lose a few more pounds so that my face looks less...round...haha. I, too, cannot wait for layering in the fall!!

  16. Aw thank you! Haha I think that's the reason I've been hesitant on the pixie thus far as well. SO ROUND.

  17. I don't know about a pixie, but a chin length bob would look cute!

  18. That's also something I've been considering, good call!
